Jesus looked upon the city

God’s heart has always been for 'mission' to the city. He is concerned about people, and Jesus reflected this in His ministry. He spoke to great crowds alongside the seashore but also tenderly comforted the widows and healed the sick. He was concerned about the ’whole man’. 

Since 1966 Birmingham City Mission has had a holistic ministry. On one hand, evangelism - the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been proclaimed in the city centre and in the community. On the other hand, social action - God’s love has also been expressed through many caring projects and thousands of people have been practically helped.

In this new century we intend, with God’s help, to continue this important task of reaching the unreached for Christ and of bringing comfort, care and hope to the needy and marginalised.
